Mother of the Bride: Cathy O.
Wedding Date: Saturday, 09/21/2024
Wedding Location: The Estate at Moraine Farm- Beverly, Massachusetts
Details: The Mother of the Bride is a long time client and friend to Pagio Jewelry Designs. I had the priveledge of designing jewelry for her and her daughter in law to be previously in 2023 (please see the other Cathy O tab).
Cathy’s dress for her daughters wedding was completely different from the dress she wore to her son’s wedding a year ago.
This dress is a one shoulder, black dress that has a large rhinestone type embellishment on the shouldered sleeve.
After discussing jewelry options and hair styles, we agreed that the dress and her overall look would be best complemented by a statement cuff and substantial sized earrings. Cathy shared that she liked the design of the earrings in the advertisement of the dress and wanted something similar. Cathy also requested that her cuff bracelet have a large focal stone in the center- similar to another cuff she had admired previously at the Pagio Gallery.
I designed a full sized cuff bracelet for her. I used a large onyx stone as the focal center and adorned the piece with dark caramel colored, top driled, natural freshwater pearls. The pearls were accompanied by large sized and free formed natural gold/champagne colored keshi pearls, fire opals, sterling silver, hematite, and brass. There is a large “corn flake” natural, freshwater keshi pearl in the center of the onyx stone- which spins.
The earrings are a mixture of cascading black, faceted hematite, matching natural dark caramel colored freshwater pearls, sterling silver beads, psacers, and chain. The earring components are small cubic zirconia boxes- which complement the shoulder embellishment on the dress, but do not take away from the sizeable cascade of an earring. Just a touch. I provided her with 2 pairs of large flat back earring backings so that the earrings would not pull as much and would lay flat against her piercing.
