Dramatic Black Onyx Agate Statement Necklace

I am in love with this dramatic statement necklace. It truly is all about the stones with this piece and each one is absolutely beautiful, unique and special. The stones are very large cuts (approx 50mmx40mm), that have facets- so they shine perfectly in the light. Although large in size, this statement necklace is comfortable, and will certainly be noticed. It is a versatile piece- pairing nicely with business attire, or would work perfectly for a formal event.

Black agate has banding patterns and layers that are a characteristic of all agate gemstones. Stones that come with white layers are known as “black onyx”.

It is believed that wearing jewelry made from this gemstone will bring you peace, balance your positive and negative energy, relieve anxiety and provide protection during hard times. Black agate is a stone of new beginnings, change, and transition helping to sooth deep emotions like grief, anxiety, and anger.

When you hold this stone and look at it, it will look like solid rock but when you hold it up to the light, you will notice that it's actually translucent. I utilized brushed bright silver and gun metal colored beads, sterling silver beads, and hematite through out the piece. Pewter toggle closure.
