Manassa Turquoise Statement Necklace (piece 2)
This is one of the BEST statement necklaces to add to any collection- in my opinion!
This piece is purely all about the stones. I was able to obtain these massive stones at an estate auction. I was lucky to get my hands on them as this particular turquoise is no longer actively mined.
Large, natural, and beautiful shades of blue, green and brown in each stone. I added some hand forged bright sterling silver Navajo pearls and sterling silver beads. Large pewter toggle closure.
This necklace is certainly substantial, magnificent, and empowering. It is a feel amazing piece and a true example of natural beauty.
The necklace measures 23.5” long.
the difference between necklace 1 and 2 are the Navajo sterling silver beads I used. This piece, the beads are antiqued and are vintage Navajo pearls.
History of this particular turquoise: Manassa Turquoise was mined at Manassa in south central Colorado. Manassa Turquoise is known for its blue-green to green color with a golden or brown, non-webbed matrix. It runs primarily in veins hosted by a beautiful golden brown hard rock. It takes a skilled stone cutter to get the Turquoise out of this hard rock. It is considered to be one of the top 25 turquoise mines in the USA and is no longer mined.
